Cher Finnan

In high school and beyond I loved performing in live theater – especially musicals- and am proud to have been presented with my high school’s drama award presented to one graduating senior.  I pursued my passion for theater and music into college receiving a minor in vocal performance as a soprano in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. While my career choices have taken me in many directions since then I have always enjoyed performing in community theater and currently sing with the Cecil County Choral Society. I know first hand how transformational a costume can be in allowing the wearer to inhabit a role or another aspect of his/her personality. It’s magical.
My work background covers many fields including finance, professional baking, special education and for the Cecil County Public Library as a Young Adult Specialist. For the past three years I have worked as a licensed Realtor specializing in Cecil County MD, New Castle County DE and both Chester and Delaware Counties in PA.  When not working I spend time with my dear husband, four grown children plus granddaughter – all living locally. I also enjoy songwriting, barre class and walking outdoors when possible. I love to learn, travel, and explore, and volunteer when I can throughout the region.

Meet the Judges

Sheila Sunshine

Sheila McGinnis is a self-proclaimed intermediate cosplayer. She grew up hand sewing ornaments and other small gifts for her family, and began to explore cosplay construction in the fall of 2011 when a family friend taught her how to use a sewing machine and follow a pattern. Since then, she is mostly self-taught and tries to practice her seamstress friend’s advice to try something new in each costume she creates! Sheila’s motivation behind cosplay is usually the characters and only cosplays characters she truly loves or has a trait that speaks to her. The style and complexity of her cosplays varies greatly as her greatest joys in the process is making something completely new and different or coming across a great base item that can be modified. Sheila’s favorite past cosplays include Pre-Time Skip Nia Teppelin (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann), Ponyo (Ponyo on the Cliff By the Sea), genderbent Black Star (Soul Eater), and Popuri (Harvest Moon N64).
