Thank you for your interest in submitting artwork to the Cecil Con 2019 Art Show! We need talent and skill like yours to grace the walls of the Milburn Stone Gallery during Cecil Con 2019. Please read through the pertinent information below, extended details can be found on the submission from.

Show Title: Cecil Con 2019 Art Show

Show Description: We’re kicking off Cecil Con 2019 with a showcase of sci-fi, fantasy, anime, and gaming related artwork. We’re pleased to invite entries for the art show, which will be presented at the Milburn Stone Gallery, located on the Cecil College Main Campus. We’re accepting submissions for 2D or 3D works including but not limited to paintings, sculptures, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, photography, drawings, digital illustration, 3D models, video, etc. All works submitted must be available for the dates specified.

Eligibility: This exhibit is open to all Cecil Con Artists, Authors, Vendors, and Attendees, as well as Cecil College students, faculty and staff. All works must be appropriate for all ages. Submissions must represent the themes of Cecil Con.  All works must be suitably framed, mounted, or otherwise prepared for display in a fine art gallery.

NEW for this Year – Teen Art Gallery! Showcasing works by young aspiring artists from the local area – ages 13-17.

Submission Due Date: February 28, 2019

Notification of Acceptance: March 6, 2019

Contract/W9 Due: March 17, 2019 by 8pm via email to Staff@cecil-con.com

Artwork Drop Off: March 18 and March 19 between 10-7pm at the Milburn Stone Gallery

Cecil Con Art Show Dates: March 29, 2019 – May 5, 2019

Opening Reception: April 12, 2019 from 4-8pm at the Milburn Stone Gallery.*

Artwork Pick Up:  May 6, 2019 – May 7, 2019*
*Art work will be uninstalled the morning of the 6th and placed carefully against a wall in the gallery. Artists can come anytime between 10am and 7pm to reclaim their unsold artwork. The artwork is carefully arranged, but we ask artists to come claim their artwork asap to make room for the next exhibit to be installed. Any artwork not claimed by 7pm on May 7th is considered donated and may not be reclaimed. If the pick up dates do not work for you, you MUST contact the Cecil Con staff to make alternate pick up arrangements.

Submission/Gallery Fee

There is NO submission or gallery fee.

Up to five pieces may be submitted free of charge but must meet the requirements specified.

Sculptural work may have 2 additional images per entry that show the side and back view of the piece.

Cecil College’s Art Galleries retains 35% of gallery sales. Please price work(s) accordingly! Please note: A percentage of the commission goes to support Cecil Con.

You may list your work(s) as N.F.S. (Not For Sale)

All works accepted for the Art Show must be prepared for installation by time of drop off.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to physically drop off your work, arrangements can be made to have a Cecil Con staff member print your artwork directly at Cecil College, and frame it (for display only, not for sale) for the show. Simply email Staff@cecil-con.com.

How to Submit Artwork

Provide the following information by February 28, 2019 to Staff@Cecil-Con.com with your Last Name_Cecil Con Art Show in the subject line. You will be notified via email of acceptance status by March 6, 2019.

1. Email Requirements

Digital images of works for consideration can be no larger than 3 MB with Image List included in the email.

Include in the Image List: Entry #, Title, Media, Size, Retail Price or NFS in the email.

Label Digital Images with: Entry #_lastname_firstname_title.jpg or .png or .pdf

Include a brief artist statement.* An artist bio and/or resume is optional and may be requested if accepted.
*This MUST be submitted along with your artwork.
